Students Learn Dosing and Potency Concepts

Picture
Tuesday, June 26, 2012

I got up at 6:30 this morning and everyone else was ready to go—a very enthusiastic group! The breakfast bell rang and we went to the kitchen for yummy pancakes with peanut butter and bananas. They made sure we got protein, and we decided to walk to class today—a pleasant 15-minute walk.

Class started with dosing instructions and potencies. Karen’s excellent delivery made the concepts very clear, and she moved on to acute therapeutics for leucorrhea, toothache and coughs. This was based on the cases they saw in April at the clinics.

Students share stories of their first successes and settle in for the 3rd session of HWB’s Fundamentals of Homeopathy program.

Students are from all walks of life. There are medical and nursing school students, teachers, and a pharmacist in the class. It was a very interactive session with a lot of student participation. Students were quizzed at the end on cases and they did a very good job. They were given remedy kits to practice what they had learned in February and April and are practicing with family and friends in between sessions. This evening it is cool with a lovely breeze blowing and we are enjoying eating on the rooftop. We will end the day after entering clinical data that students collected these past few months. We begin to see patients tomorrow and look forward to this challenging task.
